Category: On Farm Research
Researchers: Avery Simundson
Keywords: Seeding Wheat
Start Date: 2017
Status: Complete

Lead Researchers: Avery Simundson, PAMI
Start Date: 2017
Project Length: 1 Year (2017)
Project Status: COMPLETED

Objectives:

1. To quantify variation in seed distribution along a large (~60′) air seeder in two air distribution systems at three different fan speeds.
2. To quantify seed damage at three fan speeds: low, recommended, and high.
3. To quantify the effect of seed moisture on seed damage and germination rate (soybeans only).

Total Project Cost: $ 64,500
MWBGA Funding Approved: $20,000
Partner Funding: $44,500
Funding Partners: PAMI, MPSG, and MCGA

Benefits to MB Producers: Data available to producers to help them make decisions on their farm.
